Just a few photographs I took on two very hot days in London, Sunday and Monday of this week.Grumpy Old Women takes the West End Stage at the Novello. How great it would been to have seen this production... it's something I can relate to!
Primrose Bakery, reminded me of 'Happy Days'.
those chairs...
Just a few pics of Harrods. A rare true blue sky that stayed with us for the whole day!!!
Food Halls...
Wonderful couple of days but always lovely to come home.
A perfect May evening here, golden fading sunshine, warm and 'that Spring, nearly Summer smell' in the air....I took this picture a few minutes ago, of the Clematis Montana growing in the Contorted Willow Tree in our garden... all a glow.Anyroadup...I have been lucky enough to buy a few French textiles in France over the last few months. Here is one of the lovely night dresses I bought....
I thought I would embellish this nightdress with a hand painted sprig or two. Faffed and fiddled with the painting and of course...ruined, I think, by the addition of a very aggressive looking wasp...ah well!
Thank you all so very much for the kindest comments left on my last post....I have had the kindest and sweetest comments and I feel so awful that I have not thanked you lovely ladies individually, but please know that I have loved receiving each and everyone. Great to have new Followers too....xxxx Have a great weekend. xxxx
I do love old envelopes, gorgeous old envelopes. Tiny time capsules, with their beautiful script, stamps and post marks. Encapsulating letters of..... treasured, sad, happy, newsy, boring, poetic, loving or business words. I don't know why I feel compelled to embellish envelopes. Reworking their aged loveliness into a decorative item. The beauty of it's papery age is key to me and all the memories that have long moved into the mists of time... working into the paper, a happy mix of old ephemera, pretty fabrics, hand embroidery and buttons.......lots of buttons, is to me, such a pleasure.
A little bit of local, good news for us, one of my favourite mixed media artistsjennifercollier is opening her own Gallery and Workshop unittwelve just outside Stafford. There will be a series of wonderful exhibitions with workshops by some incredibly talented artists.
I am lucky enough to have been asked to exhibit at the first exhibition, entitled 'Yours Sincerely'. All the pieces featuring work that incorporates envelopes and letters.
Here are the two pieces I am taking to Jen at her Gallery tomorrow. The Gallery opens next Saturday.
First piece...
I have placed the work in old cutlery boxes, which contains the work very nicely.
I love this stamp.
and this one...
Take a look at the workshops, they are really exciting for anyone based in the midlands area.

Yesterday, despite the appauling weather, with freezing temperatures, we took our friends to Ludlow. Of course, a visit to zanilady (an antiques emporium), was on the cards. I managed to take a few pictures for you to enjoy.
So many gorgeous French pieces and British vintage clothing ... I will never have any money, as I am tempted by so many lovely, lovely things. Didn't buy anything yesterday though, as I had the current husband with me ;-)

Don't want to be a dog bore, but though you may like to see Billy Button Nose. He has been living with us for a month now. He now has long dingly dangly legs, for his size. The current husband calls him 'Lightening Lenny'!!!
Hope you have a great week and thank you for all the kind comments. x
This beautiful Viola, sweetly sitting in a very old and gorgeous cup and saucer was given to me by clare yesterday at the Vintage and Handmade Fair. Thank you so much Clare. x I could have spent a fortune! So many beautiful, desirable pieces, all for sale at the vintageandhandmadefair yesterday. The day was perfect in every way. Wonderful sellers, selling wonderful wares. A great atmosphere with friends old and new meeting up. Here are pics I took and please forgive me that I have not linked each pic and have not taken a pic of every stand.
Oh and by the way Billy Button Nose put in an appearance at the Fair too...he was much admired, which made him very happy.
Thank you michele , jayne and everyone who worked so very hard in making the Fair such a roaring success. It was a great day and I am looking very much now to the Vintage and Handmade Textiles Fair in July.
