There was a mouse, where?..........

Hello lovelies...
I have had such a warm response to my brooches. I am enjoying making these little mice and bird brooches so much, that I thought I would add the designs to a coin purse. I used plain cream cotton and covered each side in muslin....textural goodness :-) Then applied two little vignettes of mices. I think I watched too much Tom and Jerry when I was little.

I have popped the purse into my Etsy Shop, but I won't be sorry if it doesn't sell, 'cus it's a real sweetie...if I may be so bold!
Then we go onto birds, one below is Betsy bird and then, hopefully flying away soon, are Peter and Paul!
Am I sounding too cheesy here? I think there is every chance the answer maybe 'yes'!

Thanks for putting up with the cheesaliciousness content of this post!

Before I go, I wondered if you could spare a minute or two to visit a couple of newish blogs.

Firstly angela is a good friend of mine. She is a jewellery maker and has lots going on. We used to live next door to each other and share a Studio at one time.

Secondly you may already know 101birdtales if not, well worth a visit. Amelia's current post, may just be of help!

A touch of nostalgia here ..... produced by Fred Quimby and very apt for Thanksgiving.

Thank you all once again for your supportive comments and for stopping by. x

'cus you're beautiful......

Hello Lovelies!
Thank you all so much for the comments left on previous post. It really is so fantastic to receive such wonderful feedback.
This is my second go tonight with this post. Blogger decided I would be better off without all of the images that I had previously uploaded, so here goes...seconds out, round two!

Now, when Viv gets an idea, she has to run with it. I am obsessive to say the least. (Ask my husband)! My mind is constantly working on how to make things, what to make, how to make it. So much so, I have to make a list to remember day to day stuff that has to be done, fetched, purchased! Then remembering the list is the trick. I treasure every moment working in my studio and I am backwards and forwards doing a bit of making, then filling the washing machine, vacuuming, taxi driving etc, you know the score. Maybe I should take a note or two from these books my Mum picked up for me!
How times have changed!
Anyway, last weekend,I snook as much time as possible making these brooches...they are a cheerful lot!

These three have made their way into Etsyland..... Birdy, Lavinia and Elsie!

Joining them tonight are these two coin purses made from very old textiles.I

I have added Spring dawn chorus to my blog....I find it very relaxing this time of year to listen to birds in full song.....maybe Spring is just around the corner! Tell me please if you find it irritating.

Well I have had two glasses of a very nice red and I have been trying to sort this post since 6.30 and it is now 9.40pm, so I think I will leave it at that for now.

Happy thanksgiving to all my American friends and thank you so much for stopping by. x

All things Vintage and Handmade

As you are aware, the Vintage and Handmade Fair has come and gone. There is nothing that I can say that hasn't already been said. For me, the Fair was perfect in every way.

This is going to sound like an 'Oscar' acceptance speech, but thank you so much to Jayne and Michele and their families for all their hard work in making the Fair such a resounding success. Thank you so much to all of the stall holders for being lovely and especially to all the visitors, who braved the good old British weather to visit. It was a fantastic day.

I would also like to say a big thank you to all that took the time to leave a kind comment on my previous post and for stopping by. x

In the deepest ocean, The bottom of the sea....

Just a little post tonight to tell you what a hard working girl I've been!!! Burning the midnight oil, making stock for the forth coming Fair.As per usual I have left everything to the last blasted moment... why didn't I get things done weeks ago? It's the 'plenty of time' syndrome, huh.
Anyway, two good solid days, head down, not too many distractions and I have managed to pull
a few items out of the hat, as they say.

I hope you have had a relaxing weekend, have a great week and thank you for stopping by.
