Hello,
I am not one for meticulously planning, when it comes to making my pieces...I have an idea and tend to go with it and see where I end up. I personally find that way of working very enjoyable. Of course, each to his own, no right or wrong way.
Going with the unplanned thinking, I recently just started to randomly cut head and body shapes, adding little teeny scraps of fabric and lace.
As you can see, I now have a range of 'Little Folk' designs.
I enjoy building up the layers of worn fabrics and stitches, seeding stitch being really good for creating a texture.
I think these Little Folk may become brooches...
and a few are housed in vintage tins.
The majority of these pieces will be coming with me to The Contemporary Craft Festival in June, at Bovey Tracey, Devon.

What fabulous little fellows they are too - I love them in their little tins where your gorgeous stitching really comes to life! I just don't know how you can part with them at the end of the process ....
