Hello!
I hope all is well with you and yours.
There has been lots going on here, hence the lack of posts just recently.

My Mum and I always visit the NEC, Birmingham every August for the
International Festival of Quilts.
I must admit I did not get to see much of the quilts on display, as I can only manage a limited amount of time standing and walking, before I am cream crackered.
I use the show to stock up on threads and general fabrics and there is certainly plenty of those to choose from.
I also came across the Selvedge stand, which for me, was so interesting...
Teresa Green screen printed bags...
Julie Arkell papier mache creatures...
Abigail Brown birdies...
Sophie Digard animal brooches...
Look at all those lovely Selvedge mags...
Ellie Evans needlecases and pin cushions...
Then I gets to meet up with me old mate...Jackie Cardy dogdaisychains (blonde and wearing one of her beautiful velvet necklace creations), we then met up with Gina fanmyflame far left, then Carolyn (in black) of lovestitchingred and last but not least lovely Chrissie niminyfingers ... we had all of ten minutes together, as I had my Mum with me.

Just to let you know that I will be having a stand at the new cotswold vintage fair, tomorrow Saturday 27th at Toddington Village Hall, Glos.
Really looking forward to meeting up with friends and hoping for good weather,
as I will be in the Marquee!
Lots of new work will coming along with me, aswell as vintage pieces.
Very old American Suffolk Puffs, which I have made into necklaces, with beautiful Mother of Pearl buttons. I really enjoy making these and as I have mentioned before, the time, worn, soft quality of the 'Puffs' are exquisite.
I have recently been working on new illustrated designs, which will be used on coin purses, long handled bags, needle cases and gadget cosies....
here are the small coin purses.
Kit the Cat putting in an appearance here!
Bill & Bert the Birds and Dirk the Dog, also on small coin purses.
Needlecases...
with Bobby Bunny in the flowers...
Greetings cards...
and brooches...
Other very old American Feedsack Suffolk Puffs,
which I have made into brooches...
Dirk with Wings ... depicted on a textured wall hanging
and Bobby putting in another appearance on another wall hanging.
It would be lovely if you could come along to this new and what is going to be a lovely Vintage affair...there will ,of course, be sellers with amazing vintage items and lots of tea and cake!
Please check out the link for details.
Thank you so much for stopping by. x

Viv, you have been a very busy girl. I hope you showed Selvedge magazine your wonderful creations? If not, why not? That is exactly the sort of magazine that you should be featured in. I know you can't walk or stand for very long, HOWEVER I'm sure you can wiggle...
ReplyDeleteSo get a wiggle on and go for it!

ReplyDeleteDirk..with wings! So uplifting. In many ways. I love it and the cats and the bunnies. You really are talented and original Viv. I enjoyed the FOQ again but missed selvedge. The necklace you were wearing was beautiful , I'm sure you'll do well at the Vintage Fair. You should do what Letticeleaf says.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant new designs Viv, all of them. And such a treat to get a tour of the fair. I like the size of your new coin purses; I agree with Letticeleaf. Selvedge and you would be like cheese and crackers.
