Our dearest girl...

Hello,
forgive me ..... but, I wasn't under any illusions that it would hurt when Rosie passed away, but I have been knocked sideways at the depth of sadness we as a family feel. Rosie passed away last Saturday night, thankfully peacefully. We were able to stroke and talk to her after she had had a stroke and be with her as she slipped away from us. She became part of our family Christmas 1995 and we have been in receipt of fifteen years of absolute love and total devotion. We are heartbroken. Will there be a time soon please, that I can think of her and not cry? To all you lovely friends, please give your sweet family pets an extra hug today and a huge hug from me. xRosie enjoying a walk in bluebell woods last April.
~O~
Onto much happer subjects....I was cheered today by Posty bringing me my part of a swop.... the lovely and exceptionally talented becky of vintage fairy tales sent me the most wonderful package, containing a flower made with gorgeous vintage textiles. Becky made the flower when attending a workshop in France with Julie Arkell. Not only did I receive this, but also the most fabulous medal for valour, which I shall wear next week on my cardi with pride. If you don't know Becky's work, please take a look at her blog. A lovely and talented lady and my friend. I shall be sending Becky one of my new necklaces and another little thing. Thank you so much Becky. ~O~
Despite having a thousand better things to do, I have been making or should I say pithering with this bird cage all of last evening and most of today! I have finally finished it and what a fiddle faddle is was too, but I am happy with it and I do love a bird cage. It bought Miss Flight to mind and I did leave the door open for little birdy to fly.

Just a short little post today. Thank you to everyone that visited my last post and to all who left a comment...so sorry if I didn't thank you personally.
Thanks for stopping by.x

Hello Viv

I am mso sorry to read about Rosie. It is so sad when a pet we've had for so long passes away.
I have had many cats ever since I was a child but each loss is just as painful. Despite the hurt of losing them, I could not be without a cat in my life, they give so much..
Thinking of you Viv.

The gifts you have received are truly beautiful, so glad they helped cheer you up a bit.
Take care

I'm so sorry. I know what you are going through. We lost our sweet Charley on January 31st. It's devastating. It will get easier... but it takes time...

I still get upset 18 months after my baby boy Bob died, it is so hard because as you say they are so loving and loyal and part of the family.
It will get easier but you will never forget. At least she was with you at the end and that is a comfort I am sure.
Thinking about you and sending hugs.
Love

I'm so sorry for your loss of Rosie, it can be just as traumatic losing a pet as losing a human friend, I know I felt a huge loss when my doggies went their way.

Dear Viv,

Yes, yes, it will hurt less, and one day you will find yourself laughing over some dear quirk of hers, or a way she had of looking at you. And it will be a comfort, i promise.

So sorry to hear about the death of your pet - it does get easier in time and you will be able to remember her without the awful sadness you feel now - it takes time but that day will come I know as I have been there!

I'm so sorry about Rosie, Viv. Pets are a member of the family and it's only natural to be so devastated. I only hope you feel better soon and can say from experience that while you will never forget her, the pain shall turn to happy memories.
I do love your bird cages, clever you. Hope you can do something cheery this weekend.

I understand you so much -a dear family member has passed away and it´s heartbreaking. Our old dog Snuff is 13 1/2 now, bear in mind he is a big dog, so that´s quite an age, and I´m dreading the day he will leave us.

I feel with you - but you gave this dog a long and happy life and she will live on in your and the whole families memory.

Big hug from here. Kirsten

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our dear old man, Oblio, after a long illness, on Christmas Eve and I still cry every day. He was with us for 15 years, too and he was my soul and my heart. We lost his "brother," Zen, suddenly in August.

Don't let anyone try to rush you; your relationship with Rosie was important and you (and she) deserve to mourn properly. She must have felt so loved.

Viv...so sorry about your loss. It hurts bad and long. I felt our house was just to quiet after we lost our Magic and only waited 2 weeks before we got another. It helped so much. So sorry you are going through this. hugs.

So sorry to hear about Rosie. I know exactly how you feel. My Toni was with me from the time I was 2 until I was 17. We had to put her to sleep in the end because of kidney failure, but we were able to be with her, and pet her as she drifted away. I still get teary-eyed when I think about it. I still have her picture by my bedside. And after 27 years, I still miss her. Is that crazy? Am I too sentimental? When I came to Kuwait, my Scooter who was nearly 4 at the time, was sent to live with my friend in Dallas. I thought I would only be here 2 years, but Scooter wound up staying with my friend for the last 12 years of his life. She took good care of him, he was loved and she loved him. She has his ashes in a box in her guest bedroom. Isn't it amazing how our pets touch our hearts and our lives so deeply? Wishing you joy as you remember all the love that little Rosie provided you over the years. The flower pin from your friend is absolutely fun and so pretty. I just adore your little birdcage with the postage stamp bottom. It is the sweetest little thing. May your heart sing! Blessings, Tammy

Viv, I promise you it gets better, eventually, but you never forget. Our Rosie also had a stroke. We watched her birth and had her for 13½ years. From time to time I see a dog who looks just like her, but none of them ever has the look in their eyes that she did.

Actually, yesterday at Bridport a lady brought in her very deaf dog, Sally, who didn't look that much like our Rosie, but she definitely had the all-seeing, deep brown eyes that told a thousand stories. Whilst it reminded me of sad times, it reminded me more of all the lovely times. We lost Rosie in 2002.

So no, you never forget, but it does get easier, and you do eventually stop crying.

Hugs
Sue xx

Dear Viv, you know how very sorry I am over the loss of your dear sweet, Rosie. The tears may come and go for sometime, but the happy memories will also be there. Hold onto them, and keep them close to your heart, for in doing so Rosie will be able to continue to bless you with her love, and you know that is what she lived for. Also, your darling bird and cage are about the sweetest thing I have seen in a long time. Your talent and creativity always delight me. xo Vic

Very, very sorry to hear about your beloved pet Rosie. I have cried many tears over the years over our lovely kitties and we are noticing that our beautiful Tiggy is getting thin and old now. Intermingled with the intense sadness is the happiness that they have had lots of years of love and comfort and stroking. What more could any animal ask for?
