I am so happy to tell you that I have been fortunate enough to have an article published in the USA's Somerset Life....all about my Keepsake Boxes.

Somerset Life Magazine is absolutely gorgeous! I knew it would be but seeing it in the flesh has been a true thrill. We have nothing like it in the UK. Full of inspirational art and ideas.

The Somerset Life team took the photographs of my Keepsake Boxes. They worked real magic with their creative sensitivity.

You may remember in my last post that robryan has an Exhibition at Stafford's Shire Hall Gallery.

All I can say is WOW!!!! It is a jaw droppingly fabulous Exhibition. I can't begin to tell you how many original incredibly intricate papercuts are on display, all sizes.

I can't imagine how hard everyone must have worked behind the scenes and Mr. Ryan too, to put this collection together. A thoroughly enjoyable and inspirational Exhibition.

I've never been closer, I've tried to understand, that certain feeling, carved by another's hand...

Having a little space to sell at The Wear-House means I am constantly tempted by other seller's gorgeous stock...such as this, which I am afraid, I could not resist.
I believe the basis of the quilt dates back to the late 1700's (I could be wrong). I also believe that it had been eaten by moth and had degraded sufficiently for someone (quite a long time ago) to use the original quilt as a basis for another. Whoever, took a great deal time and trouble to overlay more fabric and quilt it with running stitches, in a diamond pattern. These two layers have been applied to hand woven linen.
I purchased this treasure, this week, with most of the top layer of fabrics missing (moth and someone has chopped an awful lot away). It doesn't look up to much, but take a closer peek...
The most sublime, faded, textural, layered, rotted, moth eaten, stitched piece of linen imaginable! I have the perfect place for it...it's going on the wall in my sitting room, so I can sit and look at it in all it's glory.

I was also temped by this war time child's coat. It's only didi.
