Don't you just love vintage glass animals??? Maybe, maybe not, but here are just a few of the pretties coming with me to vintageandhandmade fair this coming Saturday at Chipping Sodbury.
Cute!! I have a few blown glass animals from when I was a kid. they used to have a man at the zoo who made them. (I think I still have them, golly, I"d better go look in that box downstairs and see for sure what's in it.)
Those are beautiful and so fragile... when I was a child, my mother had small, colored glass animals, one was very similar to your rooster. They have been gone for a long time--don't know what ever happened to them.
Just love those birdies... They remind me of a collection I had when I was a child.. I wonder what happened to them all.. Can't wait to see you Viv.. and we are in chatting distance of each other too.. or sign language at least!
seen a few little glass animals in my charity shop recently but didn't realise they were considered vintage - makes me realise how old I am as every girl had a set of bambi, fish and bird characters in glass when I was 13!
I've given you the "I love your blog" award :) When you have the time you can collect if here: http://pepperpi.blogspot.com/2010/04/lovely-surprise.html
that little green deer is so cute! I have been buying glass Xmas ornaments for years, or anything glass that I can hang. I have dozens, some christmasy, some animals, some flowers, even cars, trains, hot air balloons etc - everything you can think of. Most are clear glass, and with tiny white lights on my tree it just looks like shimmering masses of crystals and icicles when lit up. So beautiful.

Love the little animals - I had a collection when I was little - might still have a few in a tin somewhere!
They are amazingly delicate aren't they? I have a few too.
So looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Oh we love them! The more daft they are the better - I'd say that little green deer is about as daft as they get! t.x
Ah, memories. I had a little glass dachshund that was my grandfather's. What a sweet little treasure.
I do kind of have a soft spot somewhere for them, that deer looks like it's eyes are out on stalks!!!
startled bunny syndrome!

That takes me back. My Mum used to have a collection of little glass animals.
They're so pretty, especially the love birds on the leafy branch. x
I think I may have had a glass Bambie when I was small. xx

I used to spend my pocket money on little glass animals when I was about 8 years old ... then my little sister threw them out the bedroom window!
Hope the V&H is a big success.
