Our Feathered Friends

Keeping to the bird theme. This is a favourite brooch of mine. It is printed tin and is made by the very talented melanietomlinson. Take a look at her fabulous work, but be warned, you will be tempted. She makes the most incredible automata too. Birds of a different nature being this pair of Budgies, found at a Charity Shop, flaked paint and all, but very sweet.

Then onto a little bit of birdy love, made by yours truly!

I have no skin again on my 'sewing' finger but as ever I suffer for my art ;-)

This is a pic of the button I was chirruping on about, in my last post...glimmering gold to silver.

Thank you for stopping by. x

Hi Viv,
Beautiful stitching and I now have to use my thimble because of my compulsion to stitch!

There is something so appealing about little birdies.. and never more so than your exquisite new piece..
The Triple Tonic sounds like a jolly good idea...preferably with gin and ice.

Much love

I love your little wren and the way you used the type to form the branch.
Stunning! Your other birdies have a wonderful charm all their own.

I thinks birds are such a perfect theme for you - not too frilly or pretty (so they don't make your beautiful floral /lace concotions look too sickly sweet) but still identifiable and natural even when abstract. Clever you. sorry about the finger though. x merry

That's really beautiful, I really should step away from my sewing machine and have a go at hand sewing more often. Is that triple tonic anything to do with gin? If so, make mine a large one.

Oh I've peeped at this birdy loveliness a couple of times but haven't managed to comment. It's funny how birds are a theme for several bloggers - mine included. Yours are always so delightful Viv and the little embroidered, buttoned worlds they live in are certainly enviable. Gorgeous stuff.
