Hello,
I held a hand stitched needlecase workshop at Weston Park, Shropshire yesterday.
Room set up and ready for my guests to arrive.
We had a superb day, chatting, getting to know one another and of course, stitching.
Judy and her beautiful daughter Robyn live over in America .. we managed to hold the Workshop whilst they are here holiday in Shropshire.
Judy has the most exquisite shop in Illinois ... Soulful Sparrow , such a pleasure to finally meet Judy.
I can't believe that I didn't take any pictures of the finished needlecases.
Here are the lovely ladies though, holding up their beautiful makes.
Thank you Judy, Robyn, sweet Sue, Val, Nichola, Jan :), Di, Gay and Johanna...
you were all a delight to be with, on such a lovely day.
I must admit that I was a little distracted at the end of the day, as I was given the most unexpected and fabulous gift.
My friend Di ... Tinkering by the Sea worked on this glorious piece all day.
She had been up until 3am, then had driven a long way to the Workshop.
I oohed and ahhed all day over this Chateleine that took shape through the day.
None of the personal touches were added until the end of the day, behind my back.
As the day concluded, she gave this wonderful piece to me, which I found really hard to take in at first.
Just look at the top piece...so sweet and kind.
a little card box...
with a 'V' added at the bottom, containing tatting and precious buttons...
a cabachon, beautiful soldered, with a pic of my long eared Lavinias inside.
Sayings to make me smile...
a little needlecase, which is a vintage Whist book, lined with quilt piece, embellished with old stamps...

This is my favourite saying 'I cannot count my day complete - 'till needle, thread and fabric meet'.
Love this stamp :: Jubilee Jamboree
This tin...filled with more precious tiny trinkets.
I'm a material girl - want to see my fabric collection?
Beautiful, and each time I look at it, I can't believe that Di went to so much trouble and effort to make me such a perfectly wonderful and apt gift. Receiving this, finished off a perfect day.
Thanks so much for stopping by x

What an absolutely precious gift - each part you show is a little masterpiece in itself. I'm glad the workshop went well - I did try to book but it was already full - hopefully you'll do another in the Shropshire/Staffordshire area (nudge)! Jane x

What a lovely workshop, lots of ladies sitting around chatting and sewing, hope there was cake involved! Your gift is so beautiful and all the more so as the time and effort your friend went to make it for you. It is something you will treasure forever I am sure....
that is so beautiful, and so thoughtful.
I spotted this on fb and had to come over... so much work in this and so varied.
YOu must feel proud as students only do that when they really really love you and your work.
Thanks for sharing, it's a novel gift.
