 'Little Folk' are now Brooches.
It's funny how things evolve.   How designs wander into pastures new.
The joy of handmade, I suppose...each piece has it's own little story to tell.

 Hello,
I'm sure I saw today, quite high up, a group of white Butterflies fly over our house.   I was upstairs looking out of the bedroom window.    I thought they were blossom petals on the wind, but no, they were Butterflies.  They were very pretty.
Speaking of which, I have been making Butterfly Brooches from sweet, time worn cotton prints.

Available over in my Etsy shop.

 I really enjoy making them.

Hello,

can you tell that I love making brooches? :)
Here are a few I have recently made.  All hand stitched, collaging little scraps and haberdashery bits and pieces.
I have two online shops for my little business....

Hello,

I am not one for meticulously planning, when it comes to making my pieces...I have an idea and tend to go with it and see where I end up.   I personally find that way of working very enjoyable.   Of course, each to his own, no right or wrong way.
Going with the unplanned thinking, I recently just started to randomly cut head and body shapes, adding little teeny scraps of fabric and lace.
As you can see, I now have a range of 'Little Folk' designs.
I enjoy building up the layers of worn fabrics and stitches, seeding stitch being really good for creating a texture.

I think these Little Folk may become brooches...

and a few are housed in vintage tins.

The majority of these pieces will be coming with me to The Contemporary Craft Festival in June, at Bovey Tracey, Devon.

That's all for now...thanks for stopping by X
