recently I fortuitously purchased a reel of pure red silk thread.   I also purchased a pack of fine sewing machine needles and have been thoroughly enjoying stitching my drawn pictures...sketchbook to fabric...in a naive style, quickly and simply.
These little brooches are available in my Etsy shop ... we all know a 'Cat Lady' :)

I hope all is well with you and yours.
After a long absence from making due to completely losing my making mojo, as happens from time to time.   Elderly parents and their illnesses.  Exhibiting at Festival of Quilts,  My home studio having a complete re-vamp, giving me lots more working space, instead of a storage area with a 12" square to work on.   A very jolly holiday over on one of the Greek Islands for a week.   It is more than time to stop procrastinating and get my business back on track.  So here are a few brooches, the base of which are pieces of Edwardian stiffened men's collar, embellished with lovely vintage cotton print fragments, hand drawn details and pearlies.
Phew ... So good to be back.

Thank you!

Hello ...

thank you, thank you so much for such kind and very welcome comments.
I have missed my Blog and thought that an Email Newsletter would fit the bill, not so.
Feeling encouraged and excited to start blogging again.

I picked up an old wedding tiara recently, with wax flowers...inspired, I started to make my own paper/fabric waxed flowers.
I use old and my hand made stamens, making a little scene with a hand sculpted bird set in a vintage tin.
The making of these is very time consuming.  Individually creating each component, finding the right vintage tin and tiny boxes and thimbles, assembling into a tin, the embroidery, machine embroidered text and fixing everything in it's place is a very long process....

but each and every minute making is an absolute joy to me.
If you would like to see more photos/details, please stop by my online shops

any body out there?
If I kicked my blog off again, would I be just talking to myself, I wonder?
