Buttons ~ lots of 'em. Bring them on.

I really enjoyed receiving all the comments from my last post ~ thank you x

My weekend work.
This is a homage to buttons, lovely, lovely old buttons, dirty buttons, broken buttons, buttons with thread still attached, big buttons, small buttons, handmade buttons, wobbly buttons, flat buttons. Buttons....I love you all. (Mmmmm, raised eyebrow).
Anyway, added more of the lovelies than usual to an extremely old ~ opened up ~ envelope here. Dated October 8th 1877. Really love the mellow, subtle, aged colours, attached to a piece of map. SOLD

Three more needlecases. I want to expand the thing I'm doing here. Maybe little note books. I would perhaps make some bags, or purse but I do not possess the techical capability of construction. This is about my limit. No matter how hard I try, I always seems to get it all very wrong! If you have any suggestions that don't involve the inclusion of a zip or a lining, I would be very grateful.

Just wanted to mention that I am now a member of Charlotte of fancypicnic Shopping List Saturday. I get to go shopping on Etsy (well window shop) and post the mosaic for all to enjoy. I did commit myself to last Saturday but badly let the team down! Apologies Charlotte x Will be posting a list this forthcoming Saturday. Check the members of Shopping List Saturday Charlotte's blog.

Now Viv as one whose sewing skills are rudimentary I would just like to say if you can operate a sewing machine you can make a bag.....start with a simple tote shape.....go on You Tube and you will find lots of examples of how to make one.....just do your magic before you make up the bag.....the same goes for cushions.
Plus the more you do the better you will get....I speak from personal experience! the only thing I would say is big sewing as I refer to it is a bit dull especially if you are like me enjoy the fiddly bits best:)

Notebooks and journals would be amazing in the same style! The needlecases are little masterpieces and they would look brilliant framed.

Hello Viv,
I found you via Folksy.
WOW! I love your needlecases, book/ journal covers would also work, although I think they'd be FAB! framed.

I have been giving your purse construction problem some thought..and I don't now what to suggest. Zips are a pain. Sorry. I agree withthe tote idea..just make a rectangle bigger than you need and pinch the corners till you get a flat bottom then stitch across the corners. I can do diagrams if you like.Your Needlecases are gorgeous.

ARGH! You tease me! I can't believe it's sold. Well actually I can believe it as I think it is one of my favourites.
