Summer Flowers

Bit of a frustrating day today. Got it into my head that I would do some arty 'still life' photos of my stuff along with bits and pieces from around the house. There are so many inspirational blogs with beautifully and artfully arranged items. So I thought, give it a go......... Erhhhh I don't think so! I gladly gave up after 10 minutes. I found it almost impossible to get everything in, but still get some detail. So that was that idea scotched. I had also had a bit of a brainwave idea but could not make it because I had not got the right materials. Urgh......but I did make Fleur Hugly. She was once a half embroidered bit of tablecloth!

In between having a dabble with my crafts and house work, taxi sideline, loading the washing machine, usual scenario....... (by the way how many towels does a teenager need? I seem to spend my life washing and trying to dry bloomin' towels. They show it their person for a nano second and into the washing basket it goes, ....or should I say the bedroom floor for a few days. And not just one but several at a time). Anyway, I thought I would take the opportunity to take a few pics of my garden flowers. Mostly spoilt with the little bit of light drizzle we have had lately....yeah right. There are quite a few for you to trawl through....and I know other people's flower photos can be boring but I enjoyed myself taking them and putting them on here for your delight! They are very pretty :-)
Oh the soft gentle colours and smell of this David Austin rose.

Poor old rose never even got the chance to open...poor soggy rose.

Oooh eerrr missus!

Thanks for stopping by. x

Wow those flower photos are gorgeous..you are a brilliant gardener. I like fleur too and I know EXACTLY what you mean about the towels..thankfully those days are over for me, my two have flown (but I'm not ruling out a return of one)and towels stay nicely folded and there's always a large, dry clean one for me to use.

I am a towel Nazi....I only have a husband and a dog and neither are allowed to abuse towels!
Still life can be tricky... somedays it works really well and other times everything looks dreadful.
Flowers photos are great.

Your flower pictures are stunning as are your artfully arranged items too... I'm coveting that machine... so beautiful! Fleur Hugly is charming too! Mmmmm towels on floors... with four boys still in the house I just don't want to go there but bet there are more lurking on the floors of my house than yours right now!

You have some lovely flowers, mine have been demolished by either the rain or slugs.
I get fed up with washing things that have hardly been used/worn by the children so I take them out of the laundry basket and put them back in their wardrobes!

That soggy rose's colours remind me of faded, worn silk slippers. A little bit sad, but still lovely. Sort of Japanese - is the word wabi-sabi?

jackie ~ glad you have clean towels.
gigibird ~ I bet you have beautiful, soft, new towels...unlike mine, which exfoliate rather than dry!
Gina ~ oh goodness ~ four boys ~ where do you get the time to do your own stuff?
french knots ~ I must admit to snaeaking perfectly clean things back where they belong!
mrs jevs ~ don't know if that's the right word but you describe the rose perfectly x
doreen ~ thank you for your lovely comment x

Your flower photos are amazing! Gorgeous and stunning... Wow, wow, wow! I love how you showed flowers in all sorts of stages, not just in the "perfect" full bloom stage. "Poor soggy rose" is utterly beautiful!

I am in love with your flower photos! Not boring at all to me! What a lovely garden you must have! I am not in the dirty towel business yet as my little is still, well, little! But I remember vividly my Mom constantly fuming about it! Once I began washing my own it suddenly didn't take so many!

Absolutely GORGEOUS flower pics. LOVE the deep purple, pink, and blue ones.
Found your blog through Janel. She's a friend of mine from church here in St. Louis, Missouri.
Thanks for sharing all your hand-made goodies and lovely garden!

That blue and yellow flower is stunning (I know nothing about flowers - I'm sure it has a fancy name). And I always love a pink speckled lily - these are all in your garden?! You have done well.
And as for your still life shot, I love the one that you've shown. I adore Fleur Hugly - she's lovely :o)

Oh those pictures are breath-taking well done! As Pippa stated, that blue and yellow flower is truly stunning, what is it called?. I love summer flowers but due to not having much in the way of a garden, I tend to buy them for my home to brighten up my day.
