A handmade delight, a be~jewelled thing of beauty sent to me from dogdaisychains. I'm sure you are familar with Jackie's stunning work and if you do not own one of her special piece's then you really are missing out.
Not only did she send me this gorgeous handbag but a matching brooch.
Harris Tweed and velvet.....a truly sublime mix. She also sent vintage buttons.....bliss and heaven.

Now this must look a little odd, but when I left work today, I walked through the local Park back to my car, I spotted this nest on the footpath, which must have blown from a tree. So I popped/stuffed it into my handbag (not Jackie's). I did get a very odd look from a woman sitting on a park bench, but I don't care.
The nest really is beautiful and silky soft ... some sort of animal hair has been wonderfully woven. I think it's cat hair! Ugh, some may say but to me it is a magical, scuptural, natural, thing of beauty. My daughter Holly looked heavenward when I retrieved from my bag, when I got home. Small bird, as the little well is only the size of an egg cup. (Pardon the pun).
I thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of this one.
It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1960.
Symptoms:
1. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice. done that!
2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail! that too!
3. Causes you to send e-mail to the wrong person. yep!
4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you. DUH!
5. Causes you to forget to attach the attachment. well darn!
6. Causes you to hit "SEND" before you've finished. oh no - not again!
7. Causes you to hit "DELETE" instead of "SEND." and I just hate that!
8. Causes you to hit "SEND" when you should "DELETE." Oh No!
IT IS CALLED THE "C-NILE VIRUS."
Hmmm....Have I already sent this to you?
Thankyou for stopping by ;-) x

Hi, just stopping by for a little while!
The bag and brooch are really lovely, lucky you!!! Bit of a high coup finding the birdie's nesttoo, again lucky you!!!
I have a fat baby robin in the garden that has not stopped stuffing it's face all day today, sultanas, worms, sultanas, bugs, sultanas, seeds, sultanas, I;m surprised the thing can fly - it's square. Ummm never seen a square nest ...
Your blog is wonderful! x
harris tweed and velvet sound like they should be up there with coffee and cream, gin and tonic, strawberries and champagne! Perfectly lovely bag. Oh and that nest - well, we do have a few - but I'm not sure i'd risk one in my handbag! t.x
still laughing, still laughing!!
Gorgeous package you recieved, nice to see tweed being revitalised, I always think it's one of those beautiful fabrics that's been a bit forgotten.
I shall send you a pattern to make a large stuffed flowery bird for your nest, surely that's all it needs?? all my envelopes going in the post morn, no really ... watch your mail box!
I love the bag and brooch - will check out Jackie's site. The nest is lovely too - I have a 'selection' of old nests, usually found in the Autumn when - and of - I hack back the wilderness. There is something very elemental about nests and nesting.
Viv....first of all I love hearing from you. second I have a thing for bird's nests so had I been with you in that park we would of had a showdown. I really enjoy seeing your lastest creations. Very inspiring!
Ha ha the email could have only been meant for me! leaving two similar comments on your blog. Born in 59 and brain dead!with egg on my face..!love the nest!
Jackie's stuff is lovely. As with your own fab work, I've bought from her for prezzies for others but not for myself... yet! :O)
Just make sure you both have plenty of gorgeousness in the run up to September. I shall be suggesting both of you for 40th birthday present ideas lol
I love nests. Always wanted to do something with them at Uni but never did.
I've got it ... had it a while ... is there any cure ...
Oh dear - think I have the C-Nile virus too! The handbag from Jackie is beautiful.
The bag is beautiful...and the brooch too. I'm going to have to go over there for a visit myself.
That nest is precious. Once an empty nest fell out of a tree in my previous yard and the inside was completely woven with white hair...from my beloved white German Shepherd.
Hi Viv,
ahhhh...lovely images to start my day! I Live in Bridport, in Dorset and last year on a walk in the woods, found three gorgeous nests. Nobly, I gave them away as presents....I wish I'd kept just one!
As for the c-nile virus....it has spread to us in the West Country and will probably double back and work it's way back up through England. Hmmm....a double dose on the way then!! x
Oh Viv what a beautiful bag ...lucky you....I have a birds nest too...I have a fiend in france that collects them..with eggs...but only when they have dropped out of trees I might add...I have left mine in the shed as I was worried about the little mice in our house thinking they had a ready made nest!! but I would love to buy some little eggs to pop in one for easter...where have you put yours...besides your hand bag....
Hi Viv,
Jackie's bag and brooch are beautiful.
What will you do with the nest?
M x
Jackie's stuff is so amazing - you are very lucky to have that bag and brooch! As for the nest - wow. Just wow.
Is there any treatment for the C-Nile virus? If not, I'm in big trouble.
x
Small world! I got that same email just yesterday!
Your tweed purse is a TREASURE. Lucky you! It gives me an idea for a thrift store purse I bought recently. Medallions and buttons...hmmmmm.
You keep picking up those nests! I would have (and have done!) the same. Yours is a precious find.
