Twit twoo

Thanks for all your kind words, the last post seems to have struck a cord with an awful lot of us ..... post Christmas, early spring blues, depressing news...... seems to have a hold in parts of the northern hemisphere. Anyway, I have managed to give myself a good stern talking to and jackie told me to 'get to work', so I have. Onto that in a min. I wanted to show you this first. It's a piece of work I purchased with some old lace. The maker has used a piece of linen with paper tacked onto the front. She (I'm assuming) has used two lengths of a sort of thin ribbon and tacked these lengths into diamond shaped repeat pattern. She has then worked needlelace in the voids of the diamonds. Various patterns are worked and repeated to form the most exquisite length of lace. A real joy to see how this piece was worked.
This week I have been mostly making this needlecase..........
A crocheted pendant and.........

another crocheted pendant. I have used old buckles as the focal and added lots of buttons, lace and little strips of Liberty, I'm kinda likin' how they have turned out :-)

I hope your week is going well.
Thank you for stopping by.x
ps:In the quiet of my work room, I can hear an owl outside twit twooing, such a good, countrysidey sound!

Ah Viv, I love hearing owls too! Last summer we had a family of owls in and around our garden and the sound of the babies learning to hoot was so funny. We were lucky enough to see them gliding about from tree to tree at dusk sometimes if we were quiet. Lovely things.

Dear viv,

I call it "the winter blues"!:) I sent off a package to you yesterday and more on the way. I went to send the magazines and it was a fortune...so I am going to "repack" them and send littler amounts at a time. I was "steaming" when I left the post office yesterday. It shoudn't cost so much to give someone a little "joy". Oh LOVE your necklaces...I need to go back and take another peek. xo Amy:)

Loved seeing that lace, how fascinating :) Sounds like you've got your mojo back anyway, those are some great things.

Hi! I just found your blog for the first time and I absolutely love it! Truly! I jumped over to your Etsy shop and had to have the journal! It was hard not to buy all three things. Can't wait to see more!

Those necklaces are so lovely - I'm rather in love with that briollette-shaped facetted glass bead/button on one of them. Was that a vintage one off or do you have a supplier you could share with me?

Hearing owls gives me a thrill too - I still find it exciting

I have been away too long! Look at the fabulous things you've been up to! The needle case is to die for. Is that an iron on transfer (collage) before you embellish with lace, buttons and such? It is exquisite! Your pendants are lovely too. You do things with notions I never think to do! Inspiring!
