I'm in love

with Muriel. She came to live with us on Monday and we are all so happy and excited about being privileged enough to own her. She is a 1967 Morris Minor. We felt Muriel was the right name for her.
It's like driving a very ancient piece of farm machinery, in comparison to my little run around Corsa.
Rosie and Daisy like her too and look very much at home.

We are looking forward to packing a picnic basket and having great days out, driving our lovely new/old car.
Thanks for stopping by and saying 'hello'.

Oh Viv, I must find the photo of me with my first car - a black Morris 1000. I don't remember what year it was but Dad bought it for me 2 days before my wedding in 1971. It cost the princely sum of £100. Sadly I wrote it off 8 months later, putting a Gas Board mini-van in a ditch!!!!

Muriel is gorgeous. I can just hear her purring. My friend had one the same colour.

Thanks for your DH comment.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! I truly A-D-O-R-E these cars. They are exactly what a car should be. I have had 2 - a saloon one and a convertible. It is my dream to have a traveller and go on holiday in it.
My children didn't feel the same as I did and I used to have to wait round the corner if I picked them up from anywhere. The car was bad enough in their opinion and I was even more of an embarrassment!

Wonderful! You lucky thing. Muriel is my nan's name, a lovely name I think, though her birthday was well before 1967! Hope you have many happy times in her.

I've never seen anything cuter and then I saw Rosie and Daisy in the back seat and thought I had died and gone to heaven. It is just too cute!!!

What a beautiful car, don't make them like that now, my first car was a yellow morris minor, if I turned the corner to fast the passenger door flew open, I loved that car.

She is a thing of great beauty.. and this is from a non-driver who wouldn't know one end of a bus from another!
I do love the style of these cars.. they have character and Noddy drove something very similar!!

Takes me back. I used to drive around the farm in a blue morris minor van, before I was allowed on the road. Wishing you all many happy hours out in Muriel.

How fabulous. My first car was a Morris Minor - and it was great.
Grey paintwork and red leather interior. It never let me down once - until the wheel fell off!
I am very jealous!

Hi Viv,
I used to have a moggie thou. It was the stationwagon type and grew toadstools along the wooden bits. I hope you enjoy it as much as I loved mine.
Love your work and have added you as a blog on my blog, hope you don't mind.
