Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur....

Hello .. Happy June!
Thank you to all new Followers for my new blog shop and all the good wishes too...I have even had some sales...so a HUGE BIG thank you to you all.
Sorry to be a misery but I have not been well just of late ...Doctor's advice to stop taking anti D's, cold turkey, believe me, not advisable....so all my plans, ideas and ambitions for my blog etc. have been  on the back burner over the last week or two.
But I have the Fair on Saturday, I spoke of in my last post and it is such a lovely evening here to take a photo or two, I thought I would show you a little of the stock I am taking with me....
A stunning quilt, all the way from Texas...

Another, from Kentucky, all hand stitched, with hundreds of individual pieces of 30's? fabrics...

Look at all of those tiny stitches....

Just had to pop this one in....the apricot  peach pink of this David Austin Rose 'The Mayflower' is breathtaking.
Continuing....A pair of Sanderson 50's single twin bedcovers with one matching curtain...
handmade long handled bags...this one is made from a cashmere cardigan.  Embellished with Feedsack patchwork, hand and machine embroidery...

Anoher bag made from French linen and embellished with Feedsack patchwork and a hand embroidered, antique French monogram.
Again French linen with American patchwork and Suffolk Puffs, again American Feedsack (Yo yos).

So there are a few items coming along to the V&H Textile Fair at Chipping Sodders on Saturday.   I have the current husband doing all the driving and donkey work.   He deserves some sort of Medal for his constant support and patience.
~0~
Anyroadup...sitting having a natter at my Mum and Dads the other day, I had half an eye on this dog ornament.   You know when you are familiar with things and then one day they strike you in a different sort of way???  (He is made from one sheet of very heavy metal, moulded, somehow, into this shape).
So, I 'borrowed' him from Mother and had a practice on the sewing machine, trying to recreate his shape....
 along with bunnies and
 birdies too...
and here he is, still wip but sort of transformed from 3D to 2D.   He's waiting for his master/mistress to come home...hoping to make into a purse tonight.
 A brooch or two too.
Don't know why I've added this one really but the brooches all have the basic outline machine stitched.   More stitching to do this evening.
So that's me for now.   I hope all is well with you in your world and I hope to be posting a little more regularly soon.
Thanks for stopping by. x
Ps:   If anyone watches the 'Big Bang Theory' they will know that you only sing Soft Kitty, if you are sick :-)

love that dog, looks as though he was having a really good rootle about in the undergrowth, sniffing out the old and faint smell of the bunnies, when BANG! the smell of a fresh sizzling pan of sausages comes wafting in on the summer breeze. One big deep breath, bunnies forgotten. Sausages here we come!

Think it is ggod news I am not near you for your fair as there is a rather laarge Hens Teeth list building here... Ax

Also, Soft kitty, warm kitty... Is that an actual song?! :D I know it from "The Big Band Theory" and thought it was made up for the show!

I feel amazed to think you're struggling with your health and you still manage to create such beautiful things. All the stitches on your last bage were gorgeous. Hope you have a great fair. Bet those stunning quilts get snapped up straight away.

Oh, Viv, what curious advice from your doctor! I hope you're getting a second opinion - that sounds very strange to me.

How you to continue to create such gorgeousness in spite of everything never ceases to amaze me. I like the dog but the birdy will always be my favourite! J x

Oh Viv, you must be feeling absolutely wretched. Poor you. Your stall will be absolutely GORGEOUS! The bags are gorgeous, and the dog, the new dog design, is wonderful (so reminds me of my sweet Rosie Mae). And then there's those lovely bunnies, so sweet.......!

Hope all goes well and you're a sell-out!

Viv,
I grew up with a double wedding ring quilt my mother bought in Texas when dad was stationed there.
It was brand new and cost five dollars!! Always have loved that pattern. That one is a real treasure, so bright.
I'm wild about those long handled bags.......
beautiful work

Hey - so sorry to hear you're feeling less than well again...I should have popped over here first thing off the plane to get my (feeble) holiday blues kicked into touch!!!
needlesstosay, thinking of you and hoping you're feeling more better than worse again soon.

meanwhile - your bags are stunning. I'm a sucker for french linen. Can you ever have too many bags?
I also love the shape of that dog. Irresistable!

Here's a hug from me (HUG) and you need to know that I have a hefty bussom so give great hugs!

as you are so strict with copyright I know you will credit the designer of the dog

Thank you so much for your anonymous comment. The metal dog, to which I presume you refer, was picked up at a boot fair by my parents, a couple of years ago, with no makers' name or mark. I would like to point out to you, that I have not remade the dog in metal and called it my design.... I have used the 3d piece as inspiration and a starting point for a drawing and embroidery.

Thanks for the glorious eye candy! And thanks for sharing your work in progress, I particularly like the bunnies! Big hugs and hope you're feeling better very soon. Emma X

Hi just found your, love all your work. I use to sing that song to my pre school children when I was teaching, it made me smile to think of it again.

I love the way you interpret found objects in your work. It takes an eye like yours to spot the potential. i always think 'Why didn't I think of that?'
You don't 'copy' you re-create in your own inimitable style. I love the double wedding ring quilt. I always wanted to make one but didn't get around to it.
