Thunderbolt and lightening, very very frightening me...

Hello!
All has been quiet around here, as we have been on our jollies.   We drove down to South of France, near Perpignan, stopping on the way at Monet's Garden at Giverny...
I thought it to be one of the most exquisite gardens I have ever seen.
We had a really nasty rain storm with thunderbolt and lightening, which you can hear in the little video I took, at the bottom of these pics...

I hope these pics have given you a little flavour of the place.

Thanks for stopping by. x

I'm so jealous! I live in the US and wish I could just drive to see Monet's beautiful gardens! I teach art to elementary school children and when we study Monet I show them pictures from the website of the gardens. They always ask if we can go visit! I'm sure Monet is looking down and smiling knowing that people are enjoying his beautiful gardens to this day!

No wonder his paintings are so beautiful, look at the inspiration he lived with. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place. I hope to one day be able to visit it myself. Until then I have your blog to visit.

What an absolutely gorgeous garden Viv, I so wish ours looked like that. The thunderstorms here in the Midlands last week were scary too. Have a lovely weekend.

Lovely reminder of the day we visited Giverny when it was wet too! Thunderstorms in France are often quite spectacular and are one thing I don't miss about living there! That garden is lovely isn't it and unlike many other French gardens is natural and one can see how he was inspired to create his lovely paintings.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures of Giverny. It's been about 6 years since I was there and I agree that it is one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. I was there in September so it would have looked different to how you saw it but it was still stunning even so late in the season. Fiona

I have been there too and it is awe inspiring. Made me focus better on my color combos in my tiny garden as I love impressionism. great pics too.

I have been as well! I agree, it is one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever been in, if not the most beautiful! I can see why he was so inspired. On a similar note, there is a Monet and Turner exhibition on at the moment in Tate Liverpool which I went to the other day. It was very enjoyable and had some of his larger water lily works. Worth a visit if you are nearby (not sure if it is worth the £12 entrance fee, but if you like Monet then do go!)
