I can see for miles and miles, I can see for miles and miles, I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles.....

Hello,
you may or may not remember the bowl of Suffolk Puffs/Yo Yo's that I purchased from Gertie in Cornwall a few weeks back.
This is what I made with a few...
Double sided necklace.
With matching buttons both sides, except for the big button.

The thing is with these beautiful American 30's? circles of fabric, they need to be seen both sides...texture of the gather and the print of the other side.
So I made the necklace, so that it can be worn either way...simples!

Old, soft, worn, faded fabric, lace and buttons...all my favs.
~0~
Onto a jauntily red themed needlecase.

All feedsack fabrics, except for base.
I bought a pack of old Cash's name tabs at the weekend...everything now has a name tab stitched on!
We got into trouble at school if you didn't have your name sewn into the back of your jumper or blazer.
American worn, softly padded patchwork lining the case.
Screen printed bird and red spots...
both in Etsyland :-)
Thanks for stopping by. x

Lovely to hear from you - agree with your radiohead comment (although struggle to pin down to best ever) but perfect for some state of minds (maudlin?)
Glad you enjoyed your hols - yes to feeling like a LONG time ago. Doesn't help that I start with the blues some time before returning!!
take care

Oh that necklace is dreamy! Just checked it out on etsy but we've got vets bills to pay so I'd better keep my pennies in my purse for now :o(

You really have brought out the best of those puffs - beautiful on both sides.

Hey Viv, great idea for using the Suffolk Puffs........

Love the needle case who can resist a sweet birdy and some vibrant polka dots?

Hope you're enjoying some nice Summery weather over there........

All very prettiful but I especially like the necklace. I have a big bag of Suffolk Puffs I made myself (not as vintage and pretty as those, but nice nonetheless) that get used for all sorts of things, and I think something like that would be absolutely darling!! Three of them are about to go on a scarf tonight.

I like these things you made.
I wonder; how do you get those wrinkles in your work (the needlecase on the inside)?
I would like to hear it from you.
have a nice day. Elizabeth

Er... What's feedsack fabric?

Elizabeth (earlier comment) with regard to wrinkles- its called the ageing process. How do I know? I look in the mirror every morning that's how! 'Wrinkles of the world unite!'

Viv you're a genius. Absoloodle!
