Nobody on the road, nobody on the beach. I feel it in the air, the summers out of reach...

Hello! Just a little update on the hen's teeth shop at thewearhouse. and this week's makes....
I have been feeling pretty awful for a long time now and have been finally diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and secondary Fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel etc. etc. Feeling constantly exhausted and in pain, I have decided to move out of my little room at the Wear House and rent a cabinet and rail in Zani Sue's area of The Wear-House, which is a lovely space, full of gorgeous vintage French textiles. My handmade pieces and textiles fit in a treat, so I am feeling excited and relieved to have found a happy medium.
The Carpal tunnel is a real nuisance, as my sewing fingers are constantly numb and tingling and the Fibromyalgia has knocked me for six with the pain...has anyone has any tips on relief for these pesky problems??? I would appreciate any advice.
Anyway, enough self indulgence and onto this week's makes....
You may remember that a while ago I made this felt flower corsage. I have received some lovely compliments when wearing it, so I decided to have a go at making more!
This is the original...
My original source of this gorgeous felt has dried up, so I purchased a lovely wool mix in vintage colours...
and another...
decided to add little slithers of Liberty lawn...verrrrrrry time consuming, so I will see how they go. Costing is always such a problem!
Then onto another needlecase...

and brooches... I bought this lovely 'Moda' fabric and I believe it will be featuring in many more of my projects in the future, as I think it is stunning. It has a blue background and birds in various poses... oh, just gorgeous.and other brooches...

Well, that's about me for now. Thank you so much to all new Followers, readers and commentors, it's great to have you stopping by. x

You will love or hate this post.....

A few years ago I acquired this very old collection of butterflies and insects. Dating back to 1922. It has the most incredible, tiny little labels, written in weeny script, describing the insect and where it was found. (The family hate this).....As you can see it is decaying and I know that the butterflies wings will all go before much longer...I tried to clear a little of the dust and decay today, but only succeeded in destroying everything I touched, so I left well alone...

A couple of weeks ago, the present husband and I, visited Ardingley Antiques Fair, near Brighton and look what I found there. A collection of moths, housed in a purpose built case, just like the older one. The moths of very beautiful. (The family hate this even more!).
Unfortunately, this collection has no descriptive teeny tiny papers, but I appreciate the beauty all the same. Although I could never bring myself to actually make a collection of my own....I prefer the living variety.

I find them inspiring...
Thanks for stopping by. x

Your lights are on, but you're not home, you're mind is not you're own...

Hello,
we had a great couple of days in Cornwall, it was as lovely as I remembered and so was 'Homespun'! Jane and Christine organised a wonderful Fair and Gertie's family worked so hard to serve all of this....
Such a pleasure for me to meet old and new friends. Maggie here, dropped by with the purse she purchased from me at the last Homespun. It was so good to see one of my purses being used every day. I have added all the pics I took on the day and you can see what a collection of goodness there was.....sorry for not linking each pic....

Great day, spent in great company.St. Mawes, St. Just in Roseland and Fowey, all were as enticing, exciting and exquisitely beautiful as ever.
