Giveaway

Hello,

this screen printed Dog purse has a little malfunction.  

The bottom right hand corner is bigger than the left hand side....it juts out further than the other side, 

which is very annoying when these purses take so long to make.

Anyhoo, I thought I would put this up for a 'Giveaway', if the winner didn't mind a slightly irregular shaped purse.   A bit of lopsidedness never hurt anyone, did it?

The last 'Giveaway' was great, but I felt awful that so many lovely commentators didn't win.  

I thought I may start having regular 'Giveaways', perhaps once every few weeks.

What do you think?

The purse is made with antique, hand loomed French linen...gorgeous stuff, very hard wearing.

Screen printed, hand painted, free machine embroidered, with a smidgen of Liberty Tana Lawn.

Hello.

I had a lovely few hours visiting, instead of standing,at the Vintage & Handmade Fair ,

 Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire yesterday.

Here are Jayne Country Cottage Chic and my dear friend Michele of Cowboys & Custard

Thank you lovely ladies for organising such a fabulous Fair.

 Oh goodness, how I enjoyed myself.   I only went around the Fair once and spent the whole time nattering to all my friends and buying a few little bits and pieces.

Here is Donna Flower and her lovely Mum...If you need a vintage textile, Donna is your girl, as you probably already know.

 and a Fairy Chair from Thrifty & French   My current husband slowly shook his head in disbelief, when he clocked this teeny weeny little chair.   I told him it was a photography prop...hee hee.

The briefest Book review...ever.

This book arrived yesterday.

It's a very good embroidery stitch reference guide.

I like the size of it too.

Very clear instructions for all types of stitches.

I found it quite inspiring.

 They have used a photo of a Suffolk Puff necklace I made a while ago too.

 Here is an example of my lovely old mate Mimilove 's work.   She is a superstar.

date for your diary...Selvedge Winter Fair, dates as below.  

Very happy to say that I will have a stand at the Fair and here is the call out for stand applications.   Look, there is my little 'Blackbird singing' tin, featured on the selvedge poster.

Last week the current husband and I traveled down to Kent and enjoyed the most wonderful evening with Letticeleaf at her beautiful home.   Lin is a cordon bleu cook and her food is certainly sublime.

Next day, up bright and early for a stand at the Decorative Living Fair, Eridge Park, Tunbridge Wells.

If her exquisite stand was anything to go by, her shop must be stunning.  Full of everything we girls love.   Just look at her stock!

My dear friend Sarah-Jane down the lane came to visit the show and bought me a nosegay, in a decorated jar, with water!   An exquisite posy of wild and garden flowers, which has been a constant source of joy since returning home.   Thank you sweetheart.

Workshop update and a Hens Teeth Giveaway

 Hello,

 I have been making and framing these pieces in old cutlery boxes.  

Well...one half of a cutlery box, they make a really great frame.

 With these two pieces, I just wanted a simple look to them to appreciate the lovely old patchwork.

Thrilled to have been asked by Louise to hold a workshop at her wonderful Studio.  

Soooo to celebrate all this needlecase goings on...I thought it was about time I held another 'Giveaway'.

Below is the very one.

It's made from vintage embroidery linen, screen printed bird, hand painted and free machine embroidered flowers. Hand painted bizzy buzzy Bees.  So lots of work involved in the making.  

Finished with beautiful, old MoP buttons.

North Norfolk

Hello,

the current husband, two doggies and I, are just back from a few days in North Norfolk.

The sun popped his hat on especially for us and

we have fallen in love with a very special and beautiful part of England.

Here is the boy surveying 'his' beach.

 I managed to do a wee spot of drawing.

 We managed an Aperitif or two.

 This was our view from the house we hired.   We watched the tide come and go and the sun rise and set.

 We visited incredibly beautiful towns like Holt.

 Visited nature reserves on the Broads, like Horsey.

 We visited Hickling Church, which holds a very ancient Tomb,

 covered in graffiti.
   I could have stayed all day just looking at the marks made over the last four hundred years or so.

 This windmill, in the distance, is called Horsey Windpump

 and here is my old man with his doggies...on the beach at Walton, which had huge sea defenses.   

Can you see how the bank is eroding?

We did have a lovely few days.   
The weather was kind and it was a real switch off, which I suppose is what it's all about

Finally, I just wanted to say that I will be holding a Workshop at Weston Park on the 8th June next.
