Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my Ma and Pa, not the way that I do love you....

Hello,
just a teeny tiny post to show my new work.
Mixed media pieces applied to 6"/15 cm sq box canvases.
Here is Lavinia gloriously happy in amongst the flowers with the buzzy Bees.
(I think she may be in love)

Many layers of paint, stitch and embellishment to make these canvases.

The piece on the left below is an original artwork.
To the right below, is a print on cotton, hand finished with Liberty Tana Lawn,
paint, buttons and of course, Lavinia's  oversized bow.
Here she is.
I am really happy with how she has worked out.

I hope all is well with you and yours.
Thanks for stopping by. x

See Mrs. Gray she's proud today because her roses are in bloom, Mr. Green he's so serene, He's got a t.v. in every room...

A date for the diary dear friends.  Looking forward very much to exhibiting at Selvedge Winter Fair
Looking at the list of Exhibitors is a little daunting though...there is going to be some mighty fine and beautiful wares to tempt.
Anyway, onto Hens Teeth wares....these purses seem to be raising a smile, as Lavinia is the 'Keeper of the buttons'.

You will, no doubt, remember the 'Threads of Feeling' Exhibition at Foundling Museum, London a couple of years ago?   Deeply moving...the exhibits have stayed with me, particuarly since revisiting the Museum in March this year, for the 'Fate, Hope and Charity' Exhib.
The piece below is inspired by those Ledgers and Entry Books...I wanted to create a work that has a sad beauty.
Worked on a 1851 envelope.
Very old textiles and a wax seal, which I pressed a button into.

Onto a little mixed media piece, applied to the back of a Lozenge tin and hanging from a Lace bobbin.
